Videos: Peak Demand Control

Verification of Savings
After four years of intensive research, development and field testing, Pendulum Energy is pleased to present to you the results of actual savings achieved by the installation of PowerGuard™ systems.
In a comprehensive analysis of several case studies the performance of PowerGuard™ systems are examined.

Insufficient Power
A common problem facing consumers of electric power these days is having to deal with installations where enough power simply is not available.
Sadly there was very little that could be done to solve this problem. That is, until Pendulum Energy introduced the PowerGuard system that could mitigate the problem to a large extent.

Powerguard
CPM Range Unlimited Channel Control System for bigger installations.
Powerguard raises the efficiency of an electrical installation by managing it in such a way that the generation of a peak is curtailed.
If you want to know how Powerguard achieves this, we provide an in depth explanation of the functioning of Powerguard products.

Technical Terms
Before we see how much electricity
costs, we have to understand how it's measured.
There are two major components of any commercial or industrial electricity bill namely, Energy charge or consumption, expressed as kWh and Demand charge expressed as kVA. If you are prepared to do the Maths with us, the mystery of electricity bills will fade away.

Peak Demand
Utilities frequently charge commercial and industrial customers for both demand and consumption because it is demand, not usage that taxes the power grid more. A customer that sets a high demand requires additional generating plant capacity, hence the high peak demand charges. Here is an inclusive explanation of this phenomenon and how it relates to your electricity bill.

Powerguard DPM
DPM Range Fixed Channel Control System for less complex installations
Any electrical installation has a definite limit to the amount of power it can supply and if that limit is exceeded, you will get those annoying overload related trips. This is where the PowerGuard DPM Range comes in. It is a demand controller that controls your electrical loads in such a way that a pre-set limit that you have selected, cannot be exceeded. With PowerGuard installed and the maximum load set at the average consumption level, its operation will remain virtually undetectable to the occupants.
